Educational Simulator

While we prepare our exhibition and portfolio images for the official launch of the ELearning at UWE island we are pressing forward with a new project in conjunction with the University of the West of England, Bristol.

A key question for educators looking to use Second Life and virtual worlds in general is "what can we do with this platform that we cannot achieve elsewhere?" One very good answer to this is their use as training simulators. A training simulator provides a realistic environment and managed student roleplay to deliver practical lessons aimed at developing key practical skills and critical thinking.

ELearning at UWE Completed

The ELearning sim for the University of the West of England, Bristol has now been completed. You can visit it in world using the banner link on the right of this website. A more detailed description of what Citrus Virtual has provided and portfolio pictures will be posted soon, to co-incide with an inworld exhibition on the sim illustrating the construction process. Official opening will be In November.

ELearning at UWE

Following on from Citrus Virtual's creation of a small teaching environment for the Research Observatory department of the University of the West of England, Bristol, we have now been engaged to create a larger dedicated island for the RO and other departments in the university. With this project we are looking to provide a Second Life university island that is a little different from most. More focussed on the virtual and its use as a teaching platform and on interaction between the university and the wider Second Life world. Project build pictures and more information will follow soon!
